Excellent Competition at Lone Star Classic
Texas boys' teams sweep the top of the podium!

April 21, 2014 - DALLAS

Teams from Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisianna competed this weekend in one of the largest local boys tournaments in recent history at the USA Volleyball (USAV) sanctioned Lone Star Classic National Qualifier in downtown Dallas.  The Lone Star Classic is one of the nation's largest youth volleyball tournaments and this year featured four age groups of boys competition in addition to the massive number of girls' divisions.

In addition to the exciting competition, Texas boys volleyball received awesome exposure at the event.  Boys competition occupied five courts directly at the center of the Dallas Convention Center near the main entrance to the tournament.  The boys' games drew some of the largest crowds of the weekend.  While many may have stopped in curiosity or surprise to see boys volleyball being played in Texas, all came away impressed and entertained by the high level of skill exhibited by our local players.

Competition was tight in each of the four divisions, a testament to the broad growth of the sport and the excellent boys volleyball coaches we have throughout the state. Below are the results for Lone Star 2014:
